Well, all rather an emotional weekend for me, but an absolutely brilliant way to put a massive smile on my face, so thank you girls. I'm so proud to see how much the team has come on since the beginning of September. Unbelievable - and the sky's the limit girls if you keep working hard.

Goals today from Elisha (2) Polly, Ella and Holly.

Player of the match: Elisha Star

As with the previous game we talked about starting the game in a positive and energetic way right from the kick off. We also talked about starting with 442 formation, creating and scoring early goal(s) then moving into a more attacking 343 formation if the game allowed. The girls listened to me all weekend and took on board these tactics and carried them out superbly. The game started with high tempo from the off and we created a lot of chances, so it was a relief to see Elisha open her (and the team's) league account for the season with a great finish.

As the game developed we saw (and heard) a more vocal Maddie who is starting to really get comfortable within the team. We know what a great keeper Maddie is and she's an important part of our defence too, so it's good to see that relationship develop. The back four of Ellie, Beth, Lucy M and Isobel are now working great as a unit and understanding their roles but also Lucy/Isobel are starting to appreciate the partnership they have with the midfield players in front of them, which is one of the key factors in seeing us create more (quicker) attacking opportunities.

We slightly changed Katie and Polly's roles for this week - I asked Polly to play more defensively and this enabled us to see Katie enjoy more freedom. Polly stuck to the task brilliantly and it was great to see her pop up with a goal in the second half which was reward for the hard work. I asked Ella and Holly to play as wide as possible and this worked very well. Ella is always full of running and energy, Holly has the skill and pace to beat players. Both scored well deserved goals today and the midfield as a whole were outstanding in this match.

Up front we started with Abbey and Elisha and pre-game I asked for a goal each. Both girls were full of running and created mayhem for WB's back four and managed to keep all four of WB's defenders occupied. Elisha grabbed two goals, both girls should have scored more and will do as the season goes on if they can learn to relax in front of goal. Abbey still owes me a goal - carried forward to the Bingham game!

Choosing a starting line up today was very difficult - in particular with regards to Lucy A and Heidi. I know that the girls that started were driven on to perform at their best as they understand that you are both very keen and capable of taking their places if they do not perform. When you did come into the game yesterday you were both terrific. I love your attitude and the way you both play with a smile on your face.

It was also lovely to be able to give Charlie and Kiana their opportunity to get some more game time, which is great for their development. Both girls are developing at such a fast pace and it's lovely to see your confidence growing.

Listening to, absorbing and applying the tactics as well as having the ability to change formations mid-match shows what a clever group of girls we have in the team. Playing with great heart and team spirit, added to our ability to pass and run with the ball means we can do very well as a team - not just in the season ahead, but for years to come. Keep listening and learning girls, however, in the meantime may I say....

That, girls, was bloomin' brilliant today!
