Well what a start to the season. I have to say girls that today I don't think I have ever seen you play so well as a team and you all showed today that you were meaning business. From the moment the whistle blew you all worked your socks off and you were all certainly vocal today shouting to each other to get the ball. The team play of all you girls today has made me so proud to be your manager. If I am being honest I feel we were very unlucky to only come away from the match with a draw but I am sure if we continue to play like that our next win is just around the corner. Lets go through the team:
Polly Henley (captain) - Your goalkeeping today was nothing short of perfect. You goal kicks were amazing and you are really starting to enjoy your captains role and getting your team to work with you. The second half went very quiet for you but you remained focused and ready for a break from the oppostion.
Ellie & Lucy - You both commanded your line today, solid tackling by both of you and you made it very difficult for the opposition to score. Your reading of the game is excellent and worked well with the midfield.
Abbey, Holly and Katie - We had a change in format today with Katie in midfield and Holly moved over to the wing. I think you all worked really well together, passing the ball and battling to get the ball from your opponents. It was good to see all the midfield getting forward in the game and had sooooooo many chances at goal. Keep working together and the goals will definately follow.
Elisha - Well what can I say. This was your first time upfront for the league and what a debut. You battled for the full 50 minutes and you got us on the scoreboard to come back from behind. I think you were unlucky a few times that another goal didn't follow but I am sure that is the first of many for you.
Elise - This was your first game for us today and it was a fast game. You worked hard and made some good tackles on the wing. Keep up the hard work in training.
Ashleigh - Unfortunately I could not get you on today but you will get your turn on the pitch in future games. It was good to see you supporting your team mates.
Once again I am so proud of you all today, you all worked so hard and you all showed you commitment to your team
