Up against our opposition in last years Cup Final but this time 11 a side ! We started brightly but couldn't find a way through early which is often the spring board for our success's over the years .
Several good chances went begging until April broke the deadlock on 10 minutes and we were off and running . Lily popped in the second not long after and we were fairly comfortable although not playing any where near as well as we can .
Too many players were getting dragged out of position thus leaving us short in critical areas . We must keep our shape better and this will benefit all of you on such a big pitch .
West Bridgford pulled one back then and it was a bit tense up until just before half time when Erin scored the first of her brace . Erin had a lively game this morning and was one of our better players today .
So 3-1 at half time and changes were made to get all the 15 girls as much match time as possible .
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with us having the lions share of the possession but always wary of a West Bridgford break away .
Things were made comfortable when Erin popped in her second 18 minutes into the second half and we seemed to relax a bit more and played some decent stuff in spells.
This was a good result today but you can all play so much better and next week you will have too away at Wollaton . Areas to improve on are communication , keeping our shape better and using the full width of the pitch more . On the plus side all the girls worked hard , a good attitude , but today just seemed a little flat , I don't know why but we need to get revved up for next week
It was great to see Rosie back on the pitch and to have a full squad of 15 on duty today , excellent , you are all a superb bunch and I really enjoyed your company this morning , thank you
Needless to say I am pleased with the result and the hard work you all put in this morning , well done all of you
Thanks as always to Stuart and Gary on the flag and our referee William who did a sterling job on the whistle , thank you
Supporters as always thanks , we are nothing without you
