Date : 11/09/11 Age Group  U12 Fixture  Friendly Woodlands Black Socks 9 v 0 Notts County Ladies

Notts County Ladies -  Home  11.9.11

Up against new opposition today and an unknown quantity really the Black Socks ventured forth into only their second ever 11 a side match . This game was the first of 4 friendlies set up by the league to get all the new 11 a side teams used to this new format , an excellent idea in my opinion .

Led by this seasons skipper Eloise we kicked off kicking towards the school and started brightly and made it count with the first goal of the new season from Erin after good work from Rian .
Lily duly stuck one in the top corner on 17 minutes and we had a cushion to build on which is always nice . Rian made it 3 after an excellent cross from Erin and then Rian popped in her second just before half time after an superb exchange of passes  between Leanne and Lily  .
The second half saw the introduction of Eve and Laura , up front and at right wing back respectively .
We carried on in the same vein in the second half with April notching her first after beating 3 or 4 defenders on route and burying it in the corner . Lily popped in her second quality goal of the match from the edge of the box and Eloise capped a captains performance by bagging the 7th .
April scored another cracker curling the ball home from the edge of the box into the far corner and Erin sealed it from another superb cross from Anya .
This was a tremendous squad performance of which all the girls should be very proud . All my new signings played superbly and the old guard never missed a beat .

Molly - not much to do today because the 3 in front of you never missed a thing !
Lottie - absolutely magnificent , solid challenges all morning and very good distribution . Bryan and Paul's work with you has really payed off
Kiara - superb display and one which you should be very proud . You 3 at the back were brilliant , keep up the good work
Leanne - thats the best you have played for months Miss Groombridge , solid challenges , timing the ball well and reading the game even better , well done
Anya - you are getting stronger and more confident the more you play . In 2 positons today you were exceptional , really getting stuck in and getting about the pitch with ease
Eloise - first game as skipper and you led us well , even finding time to pop one in ! Well done Squeezer
April - unbelievable energy as always and 2 brilliant finishes from the edge of the box . You were everywhere April and we are blessed to have you amongst us
Orla - I decided to play you as the holding midfielder based on your superb displays at the heart of our defence when you covered for Esther a couple of times last season and your ability to get around the pitch well , and it payed off as you were brilliant . Good tackling coupled with sensible passing saw you mop the ball up countless times . I am very pleased for you
Lily - 2 cracking goals and some good vision too saw you turn in a great display . You really have settled in well with us and you will go from strength to strength , well done
Erin - all action as always and 2 goals to get you going again . You and Rian linked up well today just like we thought you would
Rian - 2 for you as well Miss Finney and some hard graft came with it . Strive on from on this as on your day you take some stopping
Eve- an excellent half in which you held the ball up well and played it very sensibly . Some good skill on the ball too ! Keep working hard in training and the goals will flow , well done
Laura - an excellent showing at right wing back , some good passing and you got to grips with what we expect of you in this position . Great energy and a superb willingness to do well , excellent !

So a good mornings work for our girls today who all aquitted themselves very well . We played as a team and it showed as the confidence rose more the longer the game went on .
My thanks go to James for an excellent refereeing display , Penny , Sheep and Ellie for covering the stall and Gary and Stuart for running the line and a superb crowd as always cheering the girls on , thank you .
