A cold and slightly frosty morning greeted us but after much umming and arring I decided that the pitch was just playable and the game was on

We tweaked the team slightly from last week , pushing Rosie up front on the left of the 3 and bringing Eloise into midfield and Laura in at centre half .

A very good first half followed which was helped by that all important early goal , this time coming from April .

Erin added a second on 10 minutes and we were camped in the Notts County half . Rosie was having a storming match up front and their defnece could not handle her , so to see her bang in her 50th goal for the team just before half time was brilliant

3 changes at half time and we were off into what was a much tighter second half . Notts raised their game and both teams played some good stuff , passing it well , along with some great challenges

Eventually Molly was beaten for only the second time this season and Notts pulled one back but our response was excellent as we carved out 3 or 4 more great chances which we really should have put away .

So a good win against a team who are also improving but when you girls have to raise your game you generally do and that is great quality to have

My thanks today Katie who did a sterling job on the whistle and to all those who helped out with the pitch set and catering stall which I heard did brisk business

So we progress into the Cup semi final where we will meet West Bridgford for what should be another good game .

We have two Sundays off now girls but training as normal on Saturday mornings .
