In total contrast to last week a warm and sunny morning greeted us as we got underway at sunny Woodlands !
With the breeze at our backs we kicked off instantly putting pressure on the Wollaton goal and dictating the play without an end product . Efforts on goal came but the Wollaton keepers handling was good , again we weren't finding the corners. After having a goal disallowed we then managed to knock one in when Rosie pounced to finally give us an important cushion .
A couple of changes at half time saw Rian and Lottie come on for Orla and Erin and we were still commanding the game but we needed that all important second goal. It finally came with 10 minutes left when Rosie knocked in her second to seal the contest .
Molly - excellent handling and came off your line very well again . Adding this dimension to your game has improved not only your goalkeeping but added more stability to our all round defensive confidence as a team
Orla - another excellent performance , covering well , solid tackling and passing
Esther - excellent last week and excellent again today . You didn't give any of the Wollaton girls a sniff of goal
Eloise - another one to excel at the back . The way you met the ball on the volley all game was superb , good covering too
April - tremendous engine as always coupled with some very intelligent passing . A few minutes on the left as well was good experience for you
Rosie - up against another good defender again today you worked very hard and fully deserved another 2 goals
Erin - you worked tirelessly up front and deserved a goal for your efforts
Lottie - thats the best you have played for a few weeks , tracking back well and good solid tackling . A couple of excellent crosses too
Rian - I thought you did brilliantly when you came on . You held the ball up well and layed it off well too . A couple of nice turns as well . You too worked hard , your runs into the channels creates space for others which is invaluable
Leanne - keep up the excellent form you showed in training Leanne , your chance will come
So a great result against good opposition keeps a good start to the season going . Another tough one next week away to Gedling but we have to take points off the good teams to keep the ball rolling .
Thanks as always to Jon for reffing and a superb following as always . A special mention and thank you to Paul and Bryan whose coaching today was superb , thanks gents
