At last we got this game played after a 6 week break , it seemed like an eternity !
The girls played well at Belper , trained well yesterday but you cannot beat match day football to get you back into the swing of things .
The first half we were a bit rusty and never really got going but went into half time 1-0 up thanks to a neat finish from April .
We played it well out from the back , Esther was mopping up everything loose so there was no real concern , just rusty as a team .
The second half saw a couple of changes and we seemed to wake up a bit and start playing better going forward as well as still being strong defensively . Erin , Rosie and April got on the ball more and we created several chances thus enabling Rosie to grab a hat-trick and also hitting the bar and post to keep things ticking along .
I thought defensively every player played well, we seemed to be more composed on the ball , but against better opposition you will not have as much time as today , so be warned !
Going forward we got better as the game went on and confidence visibly grew . Mollys handling was as good as ever and she came off her line mopping up the scraps very well.
Molly - off your line well and handling good as mentioned . Your kicking off the floor was better than out of your hands , so we need to fine tune out the hands next week . Another clean sheet though , and a confident performance , well done
Leanne- a steady game and you tackled and passed the ball very well . Positionally sometimes not quite there but that will come through more match time , well done
Esther - the "rock" is back ! I thought you were brilliant , mopping up all the scraps and reading the game very well. You are an integral part of the spine of the team and that was displayed again today, superb
Eloise - you seemed off the pace today and struggled early doors . A burst in midfield in the second half did you good and you did well out there . I do want to see players in different positions so well done , it will not be the last time I ask you to play midfield
April - very busy performance as always capped off with another goal . Always look for the space , as generally there is always room as demonstrated in the second half when I kept pulling you wider , well done
Rosie - 3 superb goals and another excellent performance . I love you selfless team play , when you realise you cannot shoot you always look for a team mate , love it !
Rian - a quiet mornings work but these things happen . Keep working hard and remember when you cannot shoot look for a team mate by either laying the ball back or squaring the ball wide
Orla - a solid performance in which you passed the ball superbly and tackled very well . Your desire to get back was also brilliant , just want I love to see
Lottie - solid tackling , 2 excellent "assists" for Rosie and generally a great improvement . Keep up the good work and keep listening to Paul & Bryan
Erin - you marked your 25th appeareance with a superb 2nd half display in which you were full of energy , hit the bar and created the Toton defence no end of problems , well done
So all in all a good result in which we played OK but can do so much better . I am very pleased with a clean sheet but the girls were rusty and this can only be solved by more playing time , lets hope thats the end of the snowy and frosty weather !!
